The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) petrol pumps, having business accounts at branches of the State Bank of India, are among the most approachable centers from where one can withdraw Rs 2,000 by swapping his or her debit or credit card.

Observations revealed that customers of various commercial banks availing ATM card facility, had started availing restricted withdrawal facility through POS machines being run by the IOC Petrol Pumps located at Pohir Road, Dehlon-Kilaraipur road and Dehlon-Sahnewal road, besides the local town.

Sandeep Shahi and Avtar Krishan Sharma, office-bearers of the IOC Dealers’ Association, said branch managers at Dehlon, Raikot, Sehora and local branches had issued new currency worth Rs 2 lakh to each dealer transacting business with the bank under various schemes.

Employees of the petrol pump have been updated about the norms and instructions regarding withdrawal of Rs 2,000 by facilitating swapping of card by its holder.

Petrol pump owners will have to maintain record of transactions made out of the currency issued by the bank.
