Pranab to visit Baglamukhi temple on March 15

President Pranab Mukherjee will pay obeisance at the Baglamukhi temple in Kangra on March 15.

The Baglamukhi temple is believed to be that of the Mahabharata era.

It will be the President’s second visit to Kangra. He had earlier attended the convocation of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) in February last year.

C Palrasu, Deputy Commissioner, Kangra, said the President would land at the Sapri helipad near Jwalamukhi at 1 pm. He said preparation were in full swing. Sanjeev Kumar SDM of Jwalamukhi, visited Sapri to take stock of the preparation.

900 policemen to be deployed

Mandi: Nearly 900 police personnel, including 28 officers, will be deployed for the security of the President during his visit to Mandi on March 15.

The President will be the chief guest at the second convocation of IIT at Kamand near here. The national highway passing through the town will be closed for 30 minutes before landing and take-off of the President’s chopper.

The Mandi-Kamand road will be sealed from 10 am to 1 pm and only two-wheelers will be allowed to move after passing of the convoy.

Governor Kalyan Singh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani will also attend the function.
