Prayers mark Mahant Devendra Dass birthday

A large number of devotes celebrated the 17th Appearance Day of Mahant Devendra Dass of Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib here today.

The devotees arrived at Shri Darbar Sahib to seek the blessings of Mahant Devendra Dass and congratulated him on his birthday. To mark the occasion, special prayers were organised and prasad was distributed.

On February 10, 2000, the earlier Mahant Indresh Charan Dass accepted Mahant Devendra Dass as his disciple. Since then February 10 is being celebrated as the birthday (Appearance Day) of Mahant Devendra Dass. He took over as the Mahant of Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar on June 25, 2000, after the demise of his guru Mahant Indresh Charan Dass.

Devendra Dass, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, emphasised his commitment towards providing a new and correct direction to society. He said Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital had the noble vision of making quality health services available at affordable prices even in far-flung and remote areas. He said SGRR Public Schools run under the SGRR Education Mission were providing quality education at affordable rates to all sections of the society.
