Mohan Chauhan, Commissioner, Tourism and Civil Aviation, today said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has extended the Central Capital Investment Subsidy Scheme-2013 (CCIS) upto March 31, 2017.
He said tourism units that were pre-registered with the Industries as well as the Tourism Department were eligible for claiming subsidy under the scheme.
The Tourism units were required to register themselves with the respective District Industries Centre and the Deputy Director (Tourism) in the districts, he added.
He said all new tourism units and the existing units on their substantial expansion would also be eligible for Capital Investment Subsidy at the rate of 15 per cent of investment on plant and machinery subject to ceiling of Rs 50 lakh.
He said the stakeholders should file their claim for subsidy on the prescribed format within one year from the date of commencement of operation of tourism unit.
He said only tourism units were eligible for subsidy and guest houses were not covered under the said scheme for claiming the subsidy.
