Pritam Singh Panwar, Minister for Urban Development, has asked the officials to complete the road restoration work underway in different parts of the city as soon as possible. As the work of sewerage and water pipes is underway, extensive digging in the city is causing great deal of inconvenience to commuters.
Panwar chaired a meeting of the officials concerne today. He said the government was receiving a large number of complaints from residents. “In some cases, the work of laying pipes is complete but roads have not been restored. You should monitor the work within the next 15 days to see the progress,” he told the officers. The minister was informed that the work on the 68 MLD STP was complete at the Kargi Chowk. He asked the officers to take up the work of construction of STP under the Mussoorie sewerage plan. In 2008-2009, Rs 59.56 crore was released to the Peyjal Nigam but no work has been completed.
