Celebrating small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which have excelled in innovative use of Internet to expand their business, Google India announced the winners of Google SME Heroes Challenge in Delhi. Pumpkart.com, a Chandigarh-based venture, was among the national finalists of 25 SMEs and was declared as the regional winner from among top five SMEs in Chandigarh by an external jury comprising Kunal Bahl, co-founder and CEO, Snapdeal, Bikky Khosla, CEO, TradeIndia.com, and Deep Kapuria, Chairman, CII Trade Fairs Council.

Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund strengthens presence

Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Limited (BSLAMC), a part of Aditya Birla Financial Services Group, the investment manager for Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and the fourth largest mutual fund in India, is strengthening its foothold in the city. On his visit to the city for Investment Voyage-2015, the company’s flagship distributor meet, A Balasubramanian, CEO, BSLAMC, said, “Punjab has a 0.94 per cent share in the India’s overall mutual fund investments of Rs 12,07,720 crore.
