Punjabi singer Sarabjeet Cheema enthralled the audience during the first cultural night of the three-day Sombhadra Mahotsav, which started yesterday, at the Indira Gandhi stadium here.
Spectators danced to his hit numbers, including ‘Rang rara riri rara’, ‘Billo teri taur vekh ke’ and ‘Rang la Punjab’. He took to the stage at about 9.30 pm and the performance continued till 11 pm. Cultural troupes from Una and other districts of the state also performed.
Earlier, Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri lighted the inaugural lamp along with Chairman of the State Finance Commission and Chintpurni MLA Kuldip Kumar to mark the start of the cultural fiesta. A souvenir was also released on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of the festival organising committee Abhishek Jain, Superintendent of Police Anupam Sharma, district Congress president Varinder Dharmani and former Vice-Chairman of the Agro Packaging Corporation Omkar Sharma were also present on the occasion.
