Noted Hindi poet, Padma Bhushan awardee Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, was remembered for his literary works at a seminar organised at the Shravan Nath Math Jawahar Lal Nehru College on Saturday.
Speaking as the chief orator, Andhra Pradesh-based Professor S Sosh Ratnam termed the literary works of Dinkar as timeless. He said his works beautifully represented the ‘Chhayavaad’ period of Hindi poetry.

“Dinkar instilled feelings of nationalism through his ‘veer ras’ poems. He came to be known as a Rashtra Kavi (national poet). Through his Kurukshetra literary work, he supported Marxists’ theory and was initially not much of a supporter of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-violent mode of freedom struggle, but later, accepted Gandhian ideals,” said Sosh Ratnam.
