Raphael Ryder Cheshire International Centre celebrated its 58th Founder’s Day here on Tuesday.

Inmates residing at the centre for the past 25 years presented a short programme.

Sweta Rawat, chairperson of Hans Foundation, said the centre was set up in 1959. “These centres are a hope for those who do not have anyone to take care for them,” she said. Students from Him Jyoti School and Doon World School presented a small programme.

Raphael Ryder Cheshire International Centre has been engaged in providing relief and rehabilitation facilities to the deprived and those suffering from disabilities. It was founded by renowned humanists, Group Captain Lord Leonard Cheshire, VC, OM, DSO, DFC, and his wife Baroness Sue Ryder in April 1959.
