Residents staged a protest at the District Magistrate (DM) office here today demanding renaming of Prince Chowk as Maharaja Agrasen Chowk.

The protesters shouted slogans against the district administration.

They sought replacement of obsolete signboards with the new ones.

Sachin Gupta, former councillor of Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC), said they had given a memorandum to the district administration but to no avail.

House burgled

A resident of Park Road lodged a theft complaint at Kotwali police station on Tuesday. Complainant Vidbhor Goyal said valuables worth lakhs of rupees were stolen from his house when he was out of station, he said.
