Residents seek security refund from HUDA

With the delay in the draw of plots of Sectors 32 and 33, the demands for withdrawal of applications are rising in the HUDA office here.

Sources said that 2500 applicants have applied for cancellation, out of which the authority has refunded the amount of 400 applicants. Some applicants had approached the CM Manohar Lal Khattar a few days ago for waiving the interest on security amount. HUDA has been returning the amount to the applicants with an interest of 5.5 per cent, said Shakti Singh, Estate Officer. There was a court stay on conducting the draw and the case will now be heard on March 13, he added.

Any person who wants to withdraw their applications could approach their office and apply for the same. A person can withdraw his application through the banks through which they had applied, he added.

Besides Karnal, several applicants have also applied for withdrawal at the Panchkula office. — TNS
