Members of the Uttaranchal Roadways Employees Union in a meeting on Monday decided to start their three-day protest from July 7. HR Bahuguna, president of the Union, said the members had decided to protest as several cases of theft were reported in roadways workshop.—TNS
Power generation affected
Electricity generation in the state-run hydropower projects was badly affected after sporadic rain lashed higher parts of the state on Monday. The power generation was reported to be affected in Chibbro, Khodri, Dhalipur, Maneri Bhalli-I and II, Chilla and other hydropower projects.—TNS
Taxi operators strike
The ongoing strike by Doon Taxi Association (Railway Station) continued on the seventh consecutive day on Monday. Rajendra Anand, president, Doon Taxi Association, said members would not allow Dehradun railway management to demolish taxi stand at railway station.—TNS
