Rohtak soldier runs 104 km in record time, enters Limca Book

Shree Om (37), a Rifleman with 21 Assam Rifles, has entered the Limca Book of Records for running 104 km in 13 hours and 35 minutes carrying a weight of 10 kg.

A national-record citation was signed by Vijaya Ghose, Editor, Limca Book of Records.

The citation further acknowledges that Shree Om broke his own record of running 100 km with 10 kg weight in 17 hours and 50 minutes, which he had set on December 15, 2014.

A resident of Lakhan Majra village in Rohtak district, Shree Om serves as a Rifleman with 21 Assam Rifles. As an NSG commando between 2003 and 2009, Shree Om has guarded many prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also holds an international black belt in karate. He won bronze at the Asia Cup Karate Championship, 2007.

Shreeom maintains that physical as well as mental abilities could be used and enhanced only with regular practice.
