Amritsar, March 29

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee leader Sukhjit Singh Khosa today produced five “granthis” at the Akal Takht for allegedly performing an “akhand path” at a “samadh” (tomb) in Sidhpur village against the Sikh tenets.

These “granthis” were identified as Lachhman Singh, Partap Singh, Gurnam Singh, Mahinder Singh and Gurwail Singh. However, as Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh was not available, these “granthis” were produced before the “Panj Pyaras” who asked them to appear before them again on April 1.

Khosa revealed that the “Akhand Path” at the “samadh” had started on March 27 and he brought these “granthis” to Amritsar after the “bhog” ceremony.

The organisers had held the “Akhand Path” there despite stiff opposition from the Satkar Committee. There are reports that it was organised by a SGPC member.
