Former IAS officer and BJP MLA from Nangal Choudhary Abhay Yadav has allegedly suggested some amendments to the alignment of the 200-ft-wide proposed road connecting the Integrated Multi-modal Logistics Hub project site to National Highway-148 B at two stretches through the revenue estates of two villages.

Residents of several villages have accused Yadav of proposing modification in the ‘shajra’ plan with an intention to benefit his close associates, who possess land near the project site. They also submitted a memorandum to City Magistrate in Narnaul, seeking no amendment to the shajra plan.

Sources said a district-level committee, which was held recently, had unanimously approved modifications in the alignment and asked the State Town Planner (STP), HSIIDC, Gurgaon, to get it approved from a competent authority.

“The matter came to light after a communiqué sent recently to STP RK Singh by the then Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanjeev Verma revealed that Yadav had, at a meeting in Narnaul on July 14, desired some changes in the alignment of the proposed road through the revenue estates of Tajpur and Mukund Pura villages,” said the sources.

Verma also stated that the matter was discussed with officers of the HSIIDC, who opined that the alignment of the proposed road was not necessary and therefore, might not be changed. He himself disapproved the modification, saying it was unnecessary.

Meanwhile, Yadav, while refuting the allegations, claimed none of his family members had any land near the project site. Besides, no transaction of land was made around the site in the past two years, which was sufficient to prove the charges ‘baseless’.

“I never proposed any modification in the shajra plan. It’s a conspiracy of my opponents, who want to tarnish my image by misleading the people through false allegations,” he claimed.
