UNA, SEPTEMBER 3
Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said Rs 18 crore was being spent in Una district during the financial year on social welfare activities through the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. He was speaking at Kshetran village of Haroli after distributing 60 sewing machines to women wanting to take up self-emplyment.
The minister called upon the women to take benefit of various schemes and sops given by the Industries Department for entrepreneurs wanting to set up micro units.
Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced that the village pond would be rejuvenated in the form of a perennial water body. Besides, a community centre and a roadside rain shelter would also be constructed in the village.
Earlier, the minister dedicated to the public a newly constructed building of the Public Works Department junior engineer at Laluwal village. He said toilets, to be maintained by Sulabh International agency, were coming up at Haroli and the Tahliwal industrial area to maintain cleanliness, besides providing basic amenities to the people.
