Mandi Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam has said Rs 87.31 crore has been spent under MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) over various developments works in different parts of the district.
He said in the current financial year, a total of 22,648 developments works like construction of a pedestrians’ path, roads and other works had been started under MGNREGA in villages to provide employment opportunities at the doorstep and a total of 37 lakh working days were secured till now.
“Out of a total of 22,648 development works, 10,835 have been completed while work was in progress on the remaining ones, which would be completed soon,” he added.
“Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, there was set a target to constitute 550 women self-help groups, out of which 479 have been constituted. Under Mukhyamantri Adarsh Gram Yojna, 334 developments projects were approved, out of which 80 projects have been completed and under this scheme Rs 2.21 crore had been spent over development works till today,” he remarked.
The DC directed officials concerned to ensure a speedy progress of development works in their respective areas to benefit the people.
