Speaking at a workshop on ‘Emerging Issues in Indian Economy in 21st Century’ at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, the minister said: “SAIL and ArcelorMittal will have a combined research module and develop steel especially for car manufacturing which will ensure the safety of people in case of minor or major accident.”

He said: “28 per cent of the world’s cars are manufacture in India which has reduced the import of vehicles from South Korea, Japan, Germany and Italy.”
