Saloni wants to serve society

Saloni Rai, a resident of local HUDA's Sector-15, has secured 22nd rank in the civil services examinations. Saloni is a commerce graduate from Sriram College of Commerce, Delhi, and is undergoing training as an Assistant Commissioner in the Railway Protection Force. She made it to the civil services in her third attempt. She wanted to serve society in the best possible way.

Abhimanyu secures 38th rank

Abhimanyu Gahlaut, a resident of Farmana village in the district has got 38th rank in the civil services examinations by virtue of persistent efforts. Abhimanyu is a son of a sub-divisional engineer, Virender Singh Gahlaut. It was a proud moment for his parents and villagers.

Excise official finally makes the cut

Ashish Dahiya, an excise commissioner at Faridabad, has secured 53rd position in the civil services examination in his fourth attempt. In the last attempt, he secured 411th rank. A native of Matindu village and a son of assistant soil conservation officer, Narender Dahiya (retd), Ashish had also served as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Himachal Pradesh.

Income tax officer gets 60th rank

Atul Vats, an income tax officer in Delhi, has made it to the civil services, securing 60th rank. A resident of local Braham Nagar, Atul's father is a retired Subedar Major from the Indian Army and is serving at the Haryana Employment Department in Chandigarh. "My parents and other family members wanted me to become an IAS officer and discharge my duties towards society with honesty and dedication," he said.


Riya attributes success to family

Riya Khokhar, a resident of Hasanpur Jiwani village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, and serving as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in Delhi, made it to the civil services by securing 153rd rank. She is married to Rajnish Khokhar, an Assistant Commissioner of Police in Delhi. She attributed her success to her parents, in-laws and her husband who inspired and encouraged her to become an IAS officer.


Ankur owes his success to parents

Ankur Raparia, a resident of Shekhpura village near Gannaur in the district, has secured 298th rank in the civil services examination. Ankur did his MTech from the IIT, Delhi, Ankur made it to the civil services in his fourth attempt. At present, he is serving at the ONGC at Delhi. "With the blessings of my parents and inspiration from my uncle, Ranbir Raparia, I succeeded in the examination," he said.

Amrita secures 134th rank

Dr Amrita Duhan, an associate professor at the BPS Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan secured 134th rank in the civil services examination. Last year, her brother Vinod made it to the Civil Services and got into the IPS. Vinod not only motivated her to prepare for the exam, but also helped her with the preparations. “It is only because of my brother’s motivation that I have been able to make it to the civil services,” says Dr Amrita. 


Self-study did it for Vikas

Vikas Jakhar (24) dreamt of being a civil services officer ever since he was at school. He finished his engineering degree from the IIT, Roorkee, in 2013 and cleared the Indian Railway Service exam in the same year. However, in his third attempt, he has secured the 275th rank in the civil services exam. Vikas relied on self-study to clear his exam and perseverance is his mantra for the young aspirants.
