Sangrur to have modern bus stand

Chandigarh, May 15

The Punjab Urban Development Authority has been entrusted with the project of constructing a modern bus stand on behalf of the PRTC in Sangrur.

Spread over a six-acre plot, the bus stand will have 25,000-sq ft terminal, public conveniences block, a cafeteria, parking lot, besides area for bus movement.

The bus stand will have 13 docking bays and a separate facility for disembarking. Bus movement areas will be segregated from public movement areas by way of raised platforms. The terminal building will have an air-conditioned waiting hall and a fast food restaurant. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
