‘Save water’ was the message given on the eve of Holi at a function at the Parmarth Niketan ashram, Swargashram here today.

Recitation of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha was organised at Parmarth Niketan Ganga Ghat by Mahamandaleshwar Asaganand Saraswati Maharaj. He said Holi, the festival of colours, should be observed with brotherhood. “During Holi festival, we should ensure cleanliness of thoughts and water conservation. Water shouldn’t be misused and only natural colours should be used amid Holi celebrations,” he said.

Parmarth Niketan ashram spiritual ideologue Swami Chidanand Muni Saraswati said through Ganga Action Family and Global Interfaith Wash Alliance, message of water conservation and making the Ganga free of pollution is being given. Various projects are being worked upon by these organisations.

Spiritual orator Shyam Sunder Parashar ‘Shastri’ from Mathura said any pledge taken on the banks of Ganga have immense power and determination. “Interlinking social causes with religious occasions is a noble idea as it leaves a deep impact on devotees,” he said.
