Tehri District Magistrate Jyoti Neeraj Khairwal directed Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to expedite all revenue related cases pending for the past one year. She was addressing the SDMs during a meeting held at New Tehri today.
Jyoti directed the SDMs to fix days for resolving such cases and ensure presence of the district government council (DGC) and assistant prosecution officer (APO) during the assign days. She directed the SDMs to provide adequate information to patwaris in advance so that they could able to investigate the cases accordance to law.
The DM said out of 288 criminal cases, only 82 had been expedited while 206 were still pending at the SDM level.
Out of the 817 revenue cases registered, 214 were expedited while 610 cases were still lying pending. Around 51 cases were pending from the past six months, while 179 cases were pending for the past one year. Jyoti directed the SDMs that the number of pending cases should come down or punitive action would be taken against the erring officials in the next month review meeting.
The DM showed her concern over the encroachment of government land and directed the SDMs to free the public property from the encroachers.
The DM considering the probability of dry summer season directed the SDMs to co-ordinate with Jal Sansthan officials and identify the areas facing water paucity and make an arrangement to deliver water through tankers and mules in the remote areas of the district with the due permission of district administration.
