Police Commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal has implemented Section 144 of the CrPC, 1973, banning the gathering of five or more than five persons, carrying weapons and inflammable liquid at the Police Commissionerate. The orders will remain in force for two months.

The orders say it has been observed that protests staged by people for their rights. Such protests may lead to groupism and tension, which can disrupt the law and order situation. The orders are being implemented to prevent any loss of lives or public property. — TNS
