The UT Administrator today appointed senior advocate Suveer Sehgal as UT Senior Standing Counsel in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for civil cases. Sehgal will represent the Chandigarh Administration before the High Court and accept notices on its behalf. He replaces Sanjeev Sharma, who was appointed as the Senior Standing Counsel in March 2014.
Formal orders of Sehgal’s appointment were issued by the Law Secretary, Chandigarh Administration. Sehgal has been a practicing advocate of the Punjab and Haryana High Court since last more than 27 years. He was also holding the post of the Punjab Additional Advocate-General; and has also worked as the UT Additional Government Pleader and Haryana Deputy Advocate-General.
Sehgal is also on the panel of boards and corporations of Punjab and Haryana; and is holding the post of Holiday Home Society vice-president. He also remained a member of the Building Bye-Laws Committee set up by the UT Finance Department in 2001 to carry out amendments to the Punjab Capital (Development and Regulation) Building Rules, 1952. Sehgal has been practicing in almost all fields of law.
