Dehradun, July 3
Gaurav Kumar, president, Shiv Sena, extended his support to the ongoing agitation by the Dehradun Taxi Association (Railway Station), here today. He along with agitators sat on dharna at railway station in support of their demands.
Gaurav said the Shiv Sena activists would not allow railway administration to demolish the 60-year-old taxi stand. He expressed concern that the railway administration was purposely harassing the taxi owners.
It is worth mentioning that taxi operators under the banner of Doon Taxi Association are on an indefinite strike against Dehradun railway management’s decision to demolish taxi stand alleging encroachment by taxi operators.
Rajendra Kumar Anand, state president, Doon Taxi Association, said the agitated members had decided not to call off their strike unless they got an assurance from the state government that taxi stand would not be demolished.
