Addressing a gathering on the occasion of the Sadbhavna Sammelan organised under the aegis of Samajik Samrasta Manch here, spiritual leaders and youth icons made a fervent appeal to the people to support one another to ensure betterment of all.

The saffron setting of the event venue stood out, while Hindutva fervour reigned supreme almost throughout the RSS-backed convention.

In his address, yoga guru Ramdev advised the people to shun the caste system and mentioning their surnames, so as to create a harmonious atmosphere.

Ramdev exhorted the youth to become job-givers instead of hankering for jobs. “I also come from a humble background in the rural Haryana, but I have given jobs to one lakh people. You should also strive to establish yourself and be able to give jobs to at least a few others,” he said.

Pointing out that caste clashes were a cause of concern not only for Haryana, but for the entire country, the yoga guru warned that communal differences could lead to a civil war if not ironed out from the society promptly.

He asserted that chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ was an affirmation of citizens’ devotion to their country and if a religion preached otherwise, it was against nation’s interest. The audience responded to his speech by raising ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ slogan.

Swami Awadheshanand Giri, Saint Gyananand, Jain Muni Tarun Sagar, Sakshi Gopal Das, Amrita, Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat, international sportspersons from Haryana Yogeshwar Dutt, Chetan Sharma and Sangram Singh, and Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda also addressed the gathering and urged the people to remain united.

Himani Kapoor, Faridabad-based noted singer, ignited a patriotic fervour among the audience with her soulful rendition of patriotic songs.
