Singer Labh Janjua dead

Labh Janjua, popular Punjabi singer who also gained acclaim in Bollywood, was found dead at his residence in Mumbai on Thursday morning under mysterious circumstances. Among his recent successes was the song ‘London thumakda’ from the Hindi film ‘Queen’.
The singer died at his residence in suburban Goregaon, Additional Commissioner of Police (north region) Fatehsingh Patil said.
Janjua was found dead in his bedroom when his maid came for her routine work.
Asked if it was a natural death or suicide, the police official declined to comment.
A popular Punjabi singer from Khanna, near Ludhiana, Labh shot to fame with his song ‘Mundeyan ton bach ke rahin’, which was produced by ‘Punjabi MC’. This song was later used in the Bollywood film ‘Boom’, starring Katrina Kaif.
Whether it was his hit Punjabi songs like ‘Aag lage fashion nu’, ‘Billo tere nakhre’, ‘Ishq nagni’, or Bollywood hits like ‘Chu chan’ from ‘Singh is Blingg’, or ‘O bhape pyar karke’ from ‘Pyar ke Side Effects’, Labh Janjua was known for his Punjabi-bhangra style singing.
Recently, his track ‘London Thumakda’ from the super-hit film ‘Queen’ caught the fancy of music lovers at home and beyond. The cause of his death was not immediately known.
The news, however, left the entire Punjabi and Bollywood music fraternity in shock.

“Shockingly sudden death of Labh Janjua.. Really sad,” tweeted Sunidhi, who sang with Janjua the famous track “Dance Pe Chance” from “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”.
She posted, “Punjabi singer #LabhJanjua no more!! Really shocking news! Life can be so unpredictable.
“Shocked to hear about Labh Janjwa’s untimely demise ...
Life is so uncertain ...,” Shaan posted.
Singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana said his voice will be missed.
“RIP Labh Janjua. Your voice will always remain immortal.
“It carried the soul of Punjab.”
“Punjabi singer -#LabhJanjua no more! Really shocking news! Life can be so unpredictable,” Harshdeep Kaur posted on Twitter.
Music composer Armaan Malik wrote, “I’m devastated at this! Paaji Labh Janjua no more with us...”
