SMC yet to reply to SIT queries

Even after the arrest of seven persons by the special investigation team (SIT) for the outbreak of jaundice in Shimla, the Pollution Control Board and the Shimla Municipal Corporation have not replied to the questionnaires sent by the team. SIT had sent two questionnaires to the Shimla Municipal Corporation and the Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board (HPPCB) on last Thursday, but the authorities have not filed their reply. SIT had asked the board if had ever suggested action against those managing the sewage treatment plant and sought detail of tests conducted by the Pollution Control Board. The Shimla Municipal Corporation was asked about the areas getting water from the Ashwani Khud.
