Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pawan Kotwal today chaired a high-level meeting to discuss expansion and modernisation of the Jammu Airport.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the police, Army, Air Force, Airports Authority of India and the civil administration.
While reviewing the physical and financial status of the project, Kotwal enjoined upon the agencies concerned to maintain synergy and coordination to expedite the work on the airport expansion project. He deliberated upon recreation of Army assets, shifting of several Army utilities adjoining the airport, rehabilitation of locals and diversion of canals. Kotwal said the expansion and upgrade work on the Jammu Airport, besides recreation/ shifting of Army assets to an alternate land in Sunjwan would be completed in a fixed time period. He said the land near the airport, would be used to convert it into an international facility. — TNS
