Mohali, February 11
A seven-member delegation of the British Association of Spine Surgeons visited the Regional Spine Injuries Centre, Sector 70, Mohali.
The delegation was led by the president of the association, Dr Amarjit Rai, from the UK’s Norwich Spine Clinic. Dr Rai and Prof Raj Bahadur, director of the Regional Spine Injuries Centre, jointly conducted a complicated spine surgery, examined patients and shared their expertise in the field of scoliosis deformity durgery.
Dr Rai’s team pays a visit to the country every year to exchange knowledge with Indian spine surgeons.
Their trips are sponsored by a csharitable organisation called Spine Aid and this is their third consecutive trip. Dr Rai is the author of many original research papers into spinal conditions.
Dr Raj Bahadur said such exchange programmes helped young surgeons learn new techniques in spine surgery. — TNS
