State forms animal welfare board

The Haryana Government has formed the State Animal Welfare Board for animal welfare under the chairmanship of principal secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department.
An official spokesman said the official members of the board include: director, Agriculture Department; director, Urban Local Bodies Department, Chief Wildlife Warden and a representative of the Animal Welfare Board of India.
Among the official members, the director general, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, has been appointed as the member secretary of the board.
The spokesman said the non-official members of the board include: Acharya Yogender, Rashtriya Gaushala Dharauli (Jind), Dalip Singh Sangwan (Charkhi Dadri), Bhani Ram Mangla (Gurgaon), Jagdish Malik, Lavaris Pashu Sewa Sangh (Rohtak), Madan Kataria (Sirsa) and Samander Singh Chauhan, Nagar Nigam Gaushala, Gurgaon.
The spokesman said the headquarters of the board would be at Chandigarh and it will meet quarterly. The term of the board will be two years.
