The Haryana Government has notified public holidays for its offices for 2015.

The birth and death anniversaries of the noted personalities and festivals which have been declared as public holidays include Republic Day (Jan 26), Guru Ravidas Birthday (Feb 3), Mahashivaratri (Feb 17), Holi (March 6), Shaheedi Diwas of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev (March 23), Mahavir Jayanti (April 2), Baisakhi (April 14), Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14), Lord Parshu Ram Jayanti (April 20), Maharana Partap Jayanti (May 20), Sant Kabir Jayanti (June 2), Teej (Aug 17), Haryana’s Heroes and Martyrdom Day (September 23), Id-ul-Zuha (Sept 25), Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday (Oct 2), Maharaja Aggarsain Jayanti (Oct 13), Dussehra (Oct 22), Maharshi Balmiki’s birthday (Oct 27), Diwali (Nov 11), Vishwakarma Day (Nov12), Guru Nanak’s birthday (Nov 25) and Christmas (Dec 25).

The festivals and occasions that fall on the closed days have been excluded from the list. These are Sir Chhotu Ram Jayanti (Jan 24), Basant Panchmi (Jan 24), Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti (Feb 14), Ram Navmi (March 28), Id-ul-Fitr (July 18), Independence Day (Au 15), Janamashtmi (Sept 5), Haryana Day (Nov 1) and Shaheed Udham Singh’s birthday (Dec 26).

The employees would also be allowed any two holidays to be chosen out of the restricted holidays: Id-e-Milad (birth of Prophet Mohammad) (Jan 4), Good Friday (April 3), Budh Purnima (May 4), Guru Arjan Dev’s martyrdom day (May 22), Shaheed Udham Singh’s martyrdom day (July 31), Raksha Bandhan (Aug 29), Muharram (Oct 24), Karva Chauth (Oct 30), Govardhan Puja (Nov 12) and Guru Teg Bahadur’s martyrdom day (Nov 24).
