Students, cops trained in first aid for handling emergencies

On its eighth anniversary, Amandeep Multi-Speciality OPD Clinic organised a free medical camp in the hospital, besides first aid training and seminars sessions at Science College.

A number of patients from Jammu and surrounding areas availed themselves of the facility of free check-up camp for ear, nose and throat problems, beside general diseases requiring laparoscopic surgery. The free check-up camp was undertaken by a team of two doctors, Dr Prahlad Duggal, MS (ENT), specialist surgeon in head and neck cancer, and Dr Paramjit Singh Kahlon, laparoscopy surgeon, both from Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar.

While addressing a press conference here today, Dr Amandeep said, “The first aid training and seminars organised by Amandeep Hospital were aimed at training students and police personnel in handling emergencies arising out of fire accidents, road accidents, choking due to foreign particle in throat, snake bites, dog bites, nose bleeding, injury, fractures, etc.”

The first aid project was designed keeping in view botched up handling during emergency situation when lack of vital knowledge leads to loss of precious lives.
