Over an year after its formation, the Khattar Government has started making political appointments to the posts of chairmen of various boards and corporations.
As the first step, the BJP Government today named former Indian Revenue Service(IRS) officer Sunita Duggal as chairperson of the Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation.
The appointment of Duggal, who lost the Fatehabad seat to INLD’s Ravinder Baliala in the last assembly elections, indicated that the BJP leadership was ready to rehabilitate its ‘rejected’ politicians in plum posts of chairmen of boards and corporations.
The appointment has come two days after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the RSS top brass in New Delhi. “Now decks have been cleared for the appointment of chairmen of various boards and corporations as the BJP and RSS leadership had given the go-ahead,” sources said.
Resentment was apparently building up among senior BJP leaders, who either lost in the last Assembly elections or actively campaigned for the party in last year’s Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
A large number of ‘rejected’ politicians, a substantial number of them having RSS backing, are waiting to be ‘rehabiltated’ in prime positions.
