Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta unveiled the statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar during a function held at Thatyud in Tehri Garhwal district today. The Rajya Sabha MP said we should not think of what caste we belong but contribute to the development of society equally without any discrimination. He also announced a grant of Rs 4 lakh from his MPLAD fund for the public library at Thatyud block.
Tamta, while speaking on the issue of Dalit victimization in Gujarat, said the attacks on Dalits were attack on society. He said some organisations were trying to divide people in the name of region and caste and to stop caste discrimination one must follow the path shown by Ambedkar.
MC president Manmohan Singh Mall, BJP Dhanaulti MLA Mahavir Singh Rangad addressed the gathering on the occasion. Congress vice-president Jot Singh Bisht, Block Pramukh Kunwar Singh, Rajesh Nautiyal,Prem Lal Vishakarma,Geeta Rawat and Meera Saklani were present on the occasion.
