Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that all temples would be renovated as per traditional architecture and strict action would be taken against anyone who tries to damage the property of the temple.
Virbhadra Singh along with his wife and former member of Parliament Pratibha Singh paid obeisance at Mata Kot Kali Temple and participated in Pratishtha ceremony at Karangala, about 35 km from Rampur, in Shimla district today.
“The damage to temples would not be tolerated and we need to preserve our traditions, language and culture and added that one should not forget his traditions and should be proud of it,” he said.
The Chief Minister said he dreamt of Karangala Mata that the temple is in a dilapidated condition and is on the verge of collapse. “The very next morning directions were issued for immediate repairs. Later, re-construction of the temple was undertaken,” he said. He said that reconstruction had been started by Gian Mehta and attempts were made by some people to create obstacles but finally the dream has been fulfilled today.
He said the Karangala temple had been attached with Bhima Kali Temple Trust Sarahan and the entire expenditure, including the honorarium of pujaris, would be borne by the Bhima Kali Temple Trust, Sarahan. Gian Mehta had been made one of the trustees of Bhima Kali Trust.
