THDC India Limited (THDCIL) was felicitated by Union Minister of Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy Piyush Goel at a function in New Delhi yesterday for its contribution in the construction of toilets in schools under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The award was received by RST Sai, CMD, and DV Singh, director (technical).
Secretary, Power, PK Pujari, Secretary, Coal, Anil Swarup, Secretary, NRE, Upendra Tripathy, Secretary Devender Chaudhary, CMDs, directors and nodal officers of different PSUs also attended the function.
The THDC had to construct 1,093 toilets in various schools of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. It covered 506 schools in eight district of Uttarakhand and 56 schools in two districts of Uttar Pradesh.
A total of 1,189 toilets were constructed by THDCIL under this project. The target was successfully achieved in July.
