Thousands throng Guru Ram Rai Darbar

The birthday of Mahant Devendra Dass Maharaj of Sri Guru Ram Rai Darbar was celebrated today with utmost fervour. Thousands of devotees from Uttarakhand, neighbouring states and other parts of India and abroad sought blessings of the Mahant on the occasion.

Prayers were organised and ‘prasad’ was distributed. On February 10, the 10th Mahant Indiresh Charan Dass Maharaj accepted Devendra Dass as his disciple. The same day, Devendra Dass was given the ‘gaddi’ of Mahant of Sri Guru Ram Rai Darbar and ‘Sajjadanashin’ and took ‘deeksha’ under his Guru.Since early morning, there was special enthusiasm at Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar. After the morning worship, Mahant Devendra Dass offered prayers. Addressing the gathering, Mahant Devendra Dass thanked people for the love he received from the devotees. He reiterated his resolve to work for uplift of the poor and downtrodden through the SGRR Educational Mission, which is running hundreds of schools, colleges and Mahant Indresh Hospital. — TNS
