Three killed in Ramban accident

Three persons, including two women, were killed today when a heavily loaded truck overturned and fell on the Maruti Wagon-R car (JK03B-9666) in which they were travelling.
The accident took place this morning near Chhampa village on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district, the police said.
The truck (PB06K-2484), carrying newsprint, turned turtle while negotiating a sharp curve. Both vehicles were on their way to Srinagar.
The victims have been identified as Sukhdev Singh (60) of Mattan, Anantnag; Mohinder Kour, of Dashmesh Nagar, Jammu; and Pushpinder Kour of Digiana, Jammu.
Sukhdev Singh was a retired Assistant General Manager of SBI. Mohinder Kour and Pushpinder Kour were sisters of Sukhdev Singh’s wife. The bodies were handed over to the family members of the deceased after postmortem examination. The driver and cleaner of the truck fled the spot.
