Too many ad boards in Mohali, says Mayor

There are far too many advertisement boards displayed in various parts of Mohali , said Mayor Kulwant Singh here today. 

Kulwant Singh, who conducted a surprise check of the advertisement boards, said he suspected that many of these must have been put up in violation of the norms, as such a large number could not be allowed. 

He said that at the Phase VII Light Chowk there had space for only five boards but six had been displayed. 

In certain cases, the locations of these boards had been changed. 

He said next week he would go through the rules framed in this regard and then seek an explanation from the official concerned. 

The matter would also be taken up in the General House meeting, 

he added.
