Traders of the various grain markets of Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh today protested at the Mini Secretariat demanding action against four owners of two rice mills situated in Taraori who allegedly cheated them of crores. They then handed over a memorandum to the SP Abhishek Garg.
Jasmer Badthal, a trader of Taraori grain market, alleged that he along with other traders of the market had given paddy and rice worth Rs 25 crore to the four persons.
Similarly, traders of other parts of Haryana, MP and UP had also been cheated by them and the amount could be in the range of Rs 150 and Rs 200 crore, he alleged.
Subhash Chand Gupta, vice-president of Taraori Grain Market Traders Association, alleged that these persons have been missing from their establishments as well as from their homes for the last one month. They had filed a complaint against them, but no action had been taken so far.
He said they would be forced to come out on the roads if no action was taken soon. Deendayal Aggarwal, a trader of Mathura, claimed that he had sold paddy and rice worth Rs 80 lakh to these two firms. Now, there was no trace of them.
