Chandigarh, December 4
The Haryana Government has constituted Traders’ Welfare Board under the chairmanship of Gopal Sharan Garg.
Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the Board would comprise additional chief secretaries of finance, food and supplies, labour, and excise and taxation departments; principal secretaries of industries, power, mines and geology, and environment departments and 10 trade and industry representatives to be nominated separately by the government.
The board would address the problems and issues of traders and take redress measures. It would initiate social security and insurance schemes for traders, promote investments and employment and analyse the law and by-laws of various departments relating to traders.
The Board would also suggest simplifications in the Acts and Rules applicable to traders and establish a welfare fund for traders.
Garg has held different positions in organisations, including Akhil Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Suraksha Manch, New Delhi; Akhil Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, New Delhi; and Sanyukt Vyapar Parishad, Mahendragarh (Narnaul). — TNS
