Traffic jam at Tribune Chowk

Traffic snarls were witnessed today between the Hallo Majra light point and the Tribune Chowk following a protest staged by residents against the screening of a comedy movie, ‘The Legend of Michael Mishra’. The agitators blocked the road for 10 minutes at the Tribune Chowk, which led to a traffic jam.
The protest was staged in view of some objectionable references made to Maharishi Valmiki, in the film. The agitators demanded that the screen should be banned in the city.
Sources said the screening of the movie in the city was already put on hold and no theatre screened the movie today.
The protestors sat on the road at the Tribune Chowk leading to a traffic jam.
The police diverted the traffic enroute Tribune Chowk toward Industrial Area, Phase II to avoid traffic jam.
Inspector Jasbir Singh, SHO, Sector 31 police station, said the road was opened to traffic soon after the residents had blocked it.
The protestors then staged a protest alongside the road. However, traffic snarls were witnessed for nearly 20 minutes.
