Transport Minister GS Bali today flagged off a Volvo bus service from Chintpurni to Delhi at the Chintpurni bus stand. As per the tentative schedule of the service, the bus will start from Delhi at 5 am and reach Chintpurni at 1 pm. Speaking on the occasion, Bali said the devotees taking the services of this bus would be issued a token so that they are allowed to complete their ‘darshans’ before the bus starts its return journey. He said the bus timings could be rescheduled to suit the passengers for which he had given directions to the officers of the Transport Department.

Bali said the public transport sector had been strengthened during the last three years in the state with the addition of 1,250 new buses, while another fleet of 300 buses would be inducted soon. Of these, 200 would ply on rural routes, he said.

Chintpurni MLA and chairman of the state Finance Commission Kuldip Kumar and Regional Manager of the Una depot of State Road Transport Corporation, Vivek Lakhanpal were present.

While interacting with media persons at Una, Bali charged that the Narendra Modi-led NDA government was indulging in politics of vendetta against Congress leaders. He said the Gandhi family had sacrificed two prime ministers for the unity and integrity of the country, but the NDA government was registering false and frivolous cases against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Bali said he would lead a district level protest rally at Dharamsala on May 10 against the vindictive attitude of the NDA government, adding that block level rallies would also be organised in Kangra district on the issue.
