Himachal Pradesh will be the first state in the country to ply electric buses. This will help keep the environment clean.
Transport, Technical Education and Food and Civil Supplies Minister GS Bali said this while addressing a press conference at his residence here today.
Bali said the trial run of the electric bus from Manali to Rohtang will be held in the coming 10 days. The bus has already arrived at Manali. With one charge the bus will travel 200 kms. After the successful trial run tenders would be floated for more buses. The government will prefer Indian-made buses.
