Trust strives for global peace

The Dream and Beauty Charitable Trust (DBCT) held its 20th anniversary celebrations taking forward ‘Global peace and harmony initiative’ which was started more than a decade ago on the Senior Citizen’s Day today.

Director, operations, DBCT and member, Road Safety Council, Dr Kamaljit Soi, shared at the outset that the initiative would not only spread harmony throught the world.

The Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Charanjit Singh Atwal, was the chief guest on the occasion. Acharya Dr Lokesh Muni, president, Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, said, “We cannot live if we are not at peace with ourselves and others. Peace was necessary so that goodness can survive,” he said.

Imam Umer Ahmed IIiyasi, president, All India Imam Organisation, elated by the humanitarian endeavour of DBC chairman Anil K Monga, said he was a saint in real sense.

Goswami Sushil Ji Maharaj, choreographer, theatrist and spiritual guru, said peace and harmony should be spread across the world. He raised a slogan for the initiative, ‘Let us walk together’.

Anil K Monga, chairman of the Trust said DBCT would go all out to achieve the goals of strive to make the world hunger-free, empower women, hold livelihood programmes for the needy, render medical care to the underprivileged and vouch for senior citizens’ care.

The initiative would follow the United Nation’s theme of peace, ‘The sustainable development goals: building blocks for peace’, he said.

“The Trust has been serving the poor by providing food, education, skill enhancement, job opportunities to women. We are serving senior citizens, upbringing homeless children and giving medical care to underprivileged,” said Monga.
