Hisar, April 19
The district police have registered a case of cheating and sale of noxious food items against Easyday, its owner Bharti Mittal and several other executives on the complaint of a Hisar-based customer.
Amit Paruthi had filed a complaint with a local court that two Easyday stores in Hisar had been charging more money and selling noxious food items. The court of Judicial Magistrate Sudhir Kumar directed the police to register an FIR on his complaint. Acting on the directions, the police yesterday registered a case in this regard.
A police spokesperson said the accused include Easyday, Bharti Retail Pvt Ltd, Bharti Enterprises Ltd, Sunil Mittal (chairman of Bharti Enterprises Ltd) and Rajan Mittal (vice-chairman of Bharti Enterprises Ltd)among others. Pruthi had alleged that Easyday had been misleading customers. He alleged the store had also put products that had exceeded the expiry dates. These products were, however, withdrawn later when the matter was brought to their notice.
