Two students killed in road mishap

Two students from Indian Institute of Management and Technology, Murthal, died on the spot while two others were seriously injured when their car was knocked down by a speeding vehicle near Sukhdev Dhaba on the GT Road on Wednesday. While Manny Chawla of Rohini in Delhi and Paras of Jammu died on the spot, Rohit from Jammu and Arun from Gharaunda in Karnal district sustained grievous injuries and were admitted at the civil hospital. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver at the Murthal police station. — OC

Man murdered by thieves

Thieves murdered Om Parkash (70), who was sleeping in the courtyard of his house at Faridpur village in Gharaunda block, and escaped with a tractor-trolley on Wednesday. The police have registered a case against unknown persons under section 302 of the IPC. Om Parkash was found in a pool of blood by his son Manoj. — TNS

Put Sangwan behind bars: Punjabi body

Infuriated by Jat leader Hawa Singh Sangwan’s anti-Punjabi community remarks, Punjabi Mahashakti Manch on Wednesday handed over a written complaint to Faridabad Police Commissioner Subhash Yadav, to register an FIR against Sangwan. National president Harish Chander said a complaint was submitted against Sangwan for dubbing the community anti-national. Meanwhile, Sangwan in a press release maintained CM Manohar Lal Khattar had dubbed the people of Haryanavi-origin as dumb, which exposed the fact that the CM did not pride himself as a Haryanvi. — TNS
