Udhampur-Kanpur Express extended to Allahabad as superfast train

The 14155/14156 Kanpur-Udhampur-Kanpur bi-weekly express will now go up to Allahabad with immediate effect.

The Railways has announced that the extended trains with new numbers 24155/24156 would run as a superfast express. The arrival and departure time of the pair of extended train at Ludhiana, however, remains unchanged.

The 24155 (old no 14155) Allahabad –Udhampur superfast Express train will depart from Allahabad on every Tuesday and Saturday at 2.45 pm to reach Kanpur at 5.35 pm. The train will depart from there at 5.40 pm for its onward journey to reach Udhampur at 1.30 pm the next day.

In the return direction, the 24156 (old no14156) Udhampur- Allahabad Superfast Express train will depart from Udhampur on every Wednesday and Sunday at 4.20 pm instead of 4.15 pm to reach Kanpur at 12.10 pm instead of 1.55 pm. On its extended portion, the 24156 will depart from Kanpur at 12.15 pm to reach Allahabad at 3.00 pm the same day.

The 24155/24156 Allahabad–Udhampur-Allahabad Superfast Express train will stop at Fatehpur, Kanpur, Etawah, Tundla, Aligarh, Khurja, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt and Jammu Tawi stations en route both directions.

In a separate announcement, the railway authorities said due to non-interlocking work on Bilaspur Division of South East Central Railway, the 12549 Durg-Jammu Tawi Superfast Express will remain cancelled on February 21 and the 12550 Jammu Tawi- Durg Superfast Express will not run on February23.

Meanwhile, senior railway officials said all 129 pairs of passenger and express trains (258 in all), which were cancelled in December 2016 till January/February 2017 would be restored in a staggered manner during the second half of this month due to marked improvement in weather conditions and visibility.
