Those visiting the Suvidha Centre at the Mini Secretariat and other centres at various gram sabhas in rural areas and private centres in the district heaved a sigh of relief as the central server of Unique Identification Authority of India, Bengaluru, resumed after 24 hours at 9 am today.
Yesterday, the server stopped working at the UID headquarters in Bengaluru at 11am and as a result the online system could not upload queries related to Aadhar cards of applicants and visitors were at a receiving end. Several visitors who had come to know the status of their UID/Aadhar card number, returned without collecting the requisite information. Divya Kapoor, who had visited the centre to collect her Aadhar Card, said: “I urgently required my Aadhar card as I had to submit my admission form in the college. But after reaching here I got to know that the system was not working.”
A few others faced the same problem. Rupinder Singh, a city resident, said: “I applied for the Aadhar card a few days ago and wanted to know its status. Since I am not very tech savvy, I could not check it online hence visited the centre, but got to know that the server was out of order.”
